touching LIFESTORY

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning of his graduation his father called him into his private
study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine
son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son
a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man
opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily,
he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you
give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy
book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He
had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make
arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had
passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He
needed to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and
regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father's important papers and
saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he
read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope
taped behind the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the
sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation,
and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

Parable Of The Pencil

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."

"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."

"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.

"The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you.

Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

Contentment Could Be Happiness

Look back on your life and reflect on the number of times you said to yourself or to others that you "would be happy if you had this, or that, or would be happy if this happened, or that happened".

Examples could be, you are supposed to be happy when you earn a higher salary, or when you buy a new car, or when your health improves, or when you finally find your life partner, the list goes on.

Now, did those things, assuming they really did happen, really make you happier? If yes, how much, and for how long?

Chances are, many times, the happiness faded after some time, you began to take those things for granted, and you started to search for something new to make you happy.

The problem is, this could go on for your whole life, and you will never really be happy, because there are just too many things to attain in this world.

Perhaps, by being content with and appreciative of what you have right now, you would be a lot happier with life.

Contentment doesn't necessarily have to compromise ambition and the desire to improve. You can still seek to better your life. But if you become too obsessed with it, you could find yourself running around in circles, losing touch with the present and forgetting to be happy.

Sometimes, the source of happiness could just be contentment.

Notes on Bugoy:
Bugoy only recently discovered that he had a stage-ready singing voice, and only accidentally.
Coming from an impoverished family in a far-flung area in Camarines Sur, the hard-working farmer’s son went into university with the dream of earning a degree. He payed his tuition through scholarships and earned his pocket money working as janitor, dish washer and other odd jobs.
It must have been a habit for Bugoy to sing while doing menial jobs. But back in the farm where only the cows and the birds could hear him, his voice went unappreciated. It took a friend, who heard him singing while cleaning with a mop, to make Bugoy realize that he could actually carry a tune. Winning school competitions soon emboldened him to dream some more and try out for PDA.
Look where he is now. Pursuing his dream of becoming a singer. Wherever this takes him, Bugoy will has packed enough prayers in his suitcase to see him through. And he has yet another dream… to meet someone he could fall in love with and call his girlfriend. “Para hindi na ako paghinalaang bading.”

why people will never be happy

What is the one thing in common between all the people on the planet? We all have different religions, live in different parts of the world, like different things, have different educations, but we all want to be happy. No exceptions. There is not one person born in this world, who would stand up and declare “I want to feel miserable. I want to feel sorrow and pain. I want to be lonely and hated by others. I can’t stand the idea of being happy.”

All of our lives we spend searching for happiness and fulfilment. We all work hard and try to succeed, fail and try again. Now tell me how many people do you know, who are truly enjoying their life? Not that many? Why is it that we all try so hard, but so many of us fail?
The Main Reason Why 95% Of People Are Feeling Unhappy
I often hear people say “I’ll be happy when I get that promotion”, “I’ll be happy as soon as I get married”, “If I can only pay my credit card debts I’ll be happy”. What happens in reality is that we postpone our happiness for an uncertain period of time.
We truly believe that while we comfortably sit at home, watch TV and eat popcorn someone or something is going to come along, knock on our door and say “Hey, are you Mr. Watkins? Here, I made your boss give you a raise. Oh, and by the way, you won’t have to work any longer! Just stop by once a month and pick up your pay check.” Or “Hello Miss Smith, I happened to run into a Prince Charming on my way here, and he is dying to marry you”.
Sounds rather unrealistic, but a lot of us still wait for some miracle to fall on our head and make us happy. And until this happens we refuse to be happy.
Dear friend, the truth is if you aren’t happy now you most likely will NEVER be, no matter what happens. “But I don’t have a million dollars and/or a good spouse yet!!!” you will probably snort in indignation.
Believe me, even if you would posses all these things, you still wouldn’t be happy. You would enjoy it for a day or two; you would have a temporary sense of fulfilment. Remember when you were a little kid you were so happy to get a new toy for Christmas! Then you played with it for a week or so but after a while you got bored with it and wanted another toy. We are adults now, but it seems like we never learn. Material objects do not contain an iota of happiness (well maybe just an iota, but it’s still not enough to make a long time change :)).
Sure we all want better things for ourselves, we are selfish human beings after all and this is perfectly normal. We should never stop trying to improve our lives and our relationships. Wanting is natural in life, but the idea that we can’t be happy unless we satisfy a certain desire is not! We should not depend on certain circumstances and material possessions to be happy.
