back to work....

November 2008, we decided to stop our business due mismanaging. we just stayed at home and rested. until my aunt arrived and asked for our help. she wanted a business for she was a bit tired of her work abroad. she wanted to stay for a while here in the Philippines. she invested and i'm in-charge.

my work is not that easy. i have to wake up as early as 2 am to pay for the product (malasugi) in bulua fish landing area. at first, i really had a hard time adjusting but i was able to manage it for it was my work before. i have to do all the calculations and check everything. i also have my own business (my delivery-XAVIER SPORTS), I've been supplying their veggies, fruits, sea foods, fishes for almost 4 years. i have to assist my laborer at cogon mkt til 12 noon. i just have 1-4pm as my resting period, time for my family and during Monday, i have a culinary class and Saturday, a cosmetology class sponsored by DEPED. and i think this June, i'll start my food and beverage class at Vineyard Polytechnic College. another opportunity of learning supported by President Arroyo. I've passed the Tesda exam 3 weeks ago, it is a test whether i am qualified for the scholarship or not. right now, i'm enjoying the breaks the BRO is offering me.

everybody knows that i'm the only one who's working. my hubby is just staying at home, watching our kidz or playing basketball. that's why we're really asking BRO to grant our request. my hubby is waiting for a call for Saudi. we know that BRO will help us in HIS time and will. we do trust and have faith in HIM.

Yes, it would be hard for us living and working separately but this is a very good opportuniy for all of us especially for our kids. we have plans for a brighter future and we need to sacrifice so we can achieve it. there are really times that things don't go the way we want to but BRO has good reasons for letting everything happen. BRO said, just believe and it will happen?! again in HIS time and will...

new business venture

this is our new business venture. we started this three weeks ago. this is a corpo between meemyselfmyat and my aunt. we're buying this stuff (pants, shorts, pedals, blouses and now new addition are bags) in a wholesale price from the taiwanese-chinese community in cogon mkt. then we're selling it to the tideras-tinderos of cogon mkt particularly in the fish section area. they're paying it daily for a month because it would be easier for them then to pay it fully. at first i was really doubtful if this would click, fortunately, it did. it made me realize that clothes is absolutely a basic need next to food(of course). even though we're having global crisis, still, we have a budget for apparels.

sepsis

i'm so curios about sepsis. i've encountered this word several times already. 1st was when Mariana Bridi da Costa, a brazilian model whose feet and hands were amputated before she died. 2nd was when our own King of Rap passed away last week. so i decided to gather more informations to understand everything. and this is what i got:

according to http://www.emedicinehealth.com

Sepsis is a condition in which the body is fighting a severe infection that has spread via the bloodstream. If a patient becomes "septic," they will likely be in a state of low blood pressure termed "shock." This condition can develop either as a result of the body's own defense system or from toxic substances made by the infecting agent (such as a bacteria, virus, or fungus).

People at risk for sepsis

* People whose immune systems (the body's defense against microbes) are not functioning well because of an illness (such as cancer or AIDS) or because of medical treatments (such as chemotherapy for cancer or steroids for a number of medical conditions) that weaken the immune system are more prone to develop sepsis. It is important to remember that even healthy people can suffer from sepsis.

* Because their immune systems are not completely developed, very young babies may get sepsis if they become infected and are not treated in a timely manner. Often, if they develop signs of an infection such as fever, infants have to receive antibiotics and be admitted to the hospital. Sepsis in the very young is often more difficult to diagnose because the typical signs of sepsis (fever, change in behavior) may not be present or may be more difficult to ascertain.

* The elderly population, especially those with other medical illnesses such as diabetes, may be at increased risk as well.

The number of people dying from sepsis has almost doubled in the past 20 years. This is most likely due to the increased number of patients who suffer from sepsis.

* There has been a large increase in sepsis because doctors have started treating cancer patients and organ transplant patients, among others, with strong medications that weaken the immune system.

* Also, because of our aging population, the number of elderly people with weak immune systems has grown.

* Finally, because of the increased and often inappropriate use of antibiotics to treat illnesses caused by viruses and not bacteria, many strains of bacteria have become resistant to antibiotics, making the treatment of sepsis more difficult in some cases.

Tall arrangements such as topiary are also used in buffet tables in which you want your arrangement be seen by the guest.

this is our own version of topiary flower arrangement. we had this before the cooking session. we had table skirting too but i i think i can't share it, for i don't have the procedures and don't have any pictures during that session. it was quite interesting, we had a hard time skirting the long table at school. we were really sweating. too bad, time was very short to learn everything.

first cooking session

(to lazy to copy the recipe from the blackboard)
FRUITY FISH

FISH BALL STARTERTS

Servings: Makes 30 fish ball starters.

INGREDIENTS

400 g White fish fillets

750 ml Water
2-Jan Medium onion, finely chopped
15 cloves Garlic, chopped
25 g Chopped spring onions
60 g Flour
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground ground pepper
250 ml oil

METHOD

· Clean fish fillets well, making sure to remove any remaining fish bones.

· Put the water in a pot and bring to the boil. Drop the fillets into the water and let cook for about 5 minutes or until flesh is slightly firm, but not flaky.

· Remove fillets from water.

· Mash the fillets and mix with onions, garlic, spring onions, flour and eggs.

· Season with salt and pepper and mix thoroughly to form a smooth batter.

· Shape the batter into small balls.

· Heat the oil in a wok. Place the balls in one by one, making sure each ball is completely submerged in the oil for even cooking. You may have to cook the balls in batches.

· Cook until fish balls are lightly browned.

· Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.

· Skewer 2 fish balls onto each toothpick, if desired.

· Serve with Sweet and Sour Sauce.

it was good and i'm planning to have it at home for my kids. i'm sure my family will love it, if only i have enough time to cook. another one we had was FRUITY FISH but i can't share the recipe yet beacuse i don't have it. i was so lazy to copy when our teacher posted it (hehehehehe)

RIP our idol...

Good men must die, but death can not kill their names. (PROVERBS)
the king of rap will always stay in our hearts and his legacy will live.
Kaleidoscope World
So many faces, so many races
Different voices, different choices
Some are mad, while others laugh
Some live alone with no better half
Others grieve while others curse
And others mourn behind a big black hearse
Some are pure and some half-bred
Some are sober and some are wasted
Some are rich because of fate and
Some are poor with no food on their plate
Some stand out while others blend
Some are fat and stout while some are thin
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most
Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin' round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world
Some are great and some are few
Others lie while some tell the truth
Some say poems and some do sing
Others sing through their guitar strings
Some know it all while some act dumb
Let the bassline strum to the bang of the drum
Some can swim while some will sink
And some will find their minds and think
Others walk while others run
You can't talk peace and have a gun
Some are hurt and start to cry
Don't ask me how don't ask me why
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most
Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin' round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world
